Panasonic Digital Concepts Center (PDCC), the venture
capital arm of consumer electronics company Panasonic
USA showcases a simulated home area network of branded
consumer electronics devices connected through the @ttract
framework.
As a world leader in the development, manufacture and
marketing of consumer electronics devices, Panasonic
is very interested in the emerging market of home networking.
Recognizing that the future of their devices will rely
on their ability to communicate with software, users
and other devices on the network, the PDCC looked to
eTango to provide the "glue" that seamlessly
integrates disparate devices into a robust next generation
solution.
Utilizing a prototype Panasonic Residential Gateway
device and an open standards services gateway implementation
along with the @ttract framework eTango successfully
integrated multiple ip cameras with various productivity
applications for a simulated real-world solution.
The objective was to not only demonstrate a working
solution comprising the delivered applications and showcased
devices, but also provide a platform to easily incorporate
new devices and applications as they become available.
